Xuất xứ từ climat La Charmotte, nằm ở phía bắc Nuits-Saint-Georges, giáp ranh vùng Vosne-Romanée, nơi có đất đá vôi pha sét đặc trưng - yếu tố mang lại khoáng chất và độ sâu cho Pinot Noir. Rượu được đặt tên theo Marcel Gerbeaut, chủ sở hữu trước của khu vườn, để tôn vinh di sản của ông. Rất phù hợp với các món thịt đỏ, gia cầm hầm nấm hoặc phô mai có vị mạnh như Comté hay Munster.
