This vibrant, pale-gold 2020 Saint-Romain "Combe Bazin" reflects its unique 400m high-altitude origin with remarkable precision. The nose reveals elegant lime, white flowers, and mineral notes that evolve into rich citrus and yellow fruit with air. On the palate, a creamy, textured core is perfectly balanced by zesty, laser-like acidity, leading to a clean, persistent, and deeply mineral finish. Sourced from a 0.5-hectare limestone and marl plot, the cooler climate of this site perfectly preserved freshness despite the warm 2020 vintage. Hand-harvested and naturally fermented, the wine was aged for 10 months in French oak (20–40% new) with bâtonnage, then refined in stainless steel - a masterclass in tension between sun-drenched ripeness and bracing, cool-climate clarity.
